And here I was thinking the calamity couldn't be any more tumultuous than
The Evil Dead or
Drag Me To Hell! In true Sam
Raimi style, characters are tossed, slammed, whipped, thrown, jostled all over the screen and covered in all manner of liquids and juices. This is more similar to the
Raimi we recently witnessed in
Drag Me To Hell.
Don't tell me you never saw this before...
ReplyDeleteBelieve it or not, before Drag Me To Hell, I had only seen The Evil Dead! Should I have to pay a penalty tax or something?
ReplyDeleteDude. Wow. Evil Dead 2 is the Raimi's masterpiece. Glad you finally caught it.
ReplyDeleteIt's like watching Peter Jackson's other movies but not watching Brain Dead.
Jaded - I know. I was hoping you all wouldn't exile me for just getting to this one!
ReplyDeleteYou won't get exiled, but you will get mocked.
ReplyDeleteAnd, Jaded, I live in a world where a) nobody even knows what Braindead is, and b) they don't call it Braindead, they call it Dead Alive (I'm from England, living in U.S.) Brain Dead is an American movie already in existence, so I guess they figured "Braindead" as one word was too confusing...
Anyway, I'm not letting Chris off by getting distracted by trivia. Shame on you! But did you like it? Come on - tell me you didn't jump up and down when the laughing scene happened...
GGG - Okay. I can take mockery. Let the fun begin!
ReplyDeleteWhen the laughing scene began, I was in awe. My jaw dropped, and I took it in for a few seconds. Slowly, I said, "Oh...my...God"--a grin turning upward with each word. Then, a euphoric sensation and my own laughing fit!
Evil Dead 2 is hands down my fav horror film. Everything is superb in it.
