An entertaining, pleasantly gruesome movie that caught me by surprise. Sure, the plot has been done many times before, but this movie had some memorable moments despite the cliché. Plus, I have respect for any movie that contains the lines (and don't quote me here):
"Four American tourists don't just disappear. Someone will find us."
Completely agree, I thought the trailer was terrible but the film was outstanding. Really enjoyed this one!
ReplyDeleteLol the movie was OKAY... It was pretty messed up what the blonde chick had to do to her self lol. The rest of was just way too much....hrrmmm bickering.
ReplyDeleteTMWNN - Definitely another movie containing whiny American tourists, but it was a lot better than I expected going into it. Yeah, that poor blonde chick...kind of reminded me of a horrifying French movie I'm going to review this weekend: In My Skin.
ReplyDeleteI liked The Ruins, as I have stated elsewhere (and been mocked for it). Too much CGI, inconsistent plant behaviors, and irritating "heroine" - check.
ReplyDeleteHowever, perhaps the greatest amputation scene ever? Quite possibly...
GGG - Amazing amputation scene, indeed! When he used the skillet to cauterize the wound, I think I cheered.
